Sanne was born in Darmstadt, Germany, in 1974. She spent her school career decorating the rims of her exercise books and drawing porttraits of her fellow classmates (who liked it...) and teachers' (who didn't always...).

She studied Art Therapy in Nürtingen, Germany, and worked with children with a variety of special needs (and special gifts...) in Northern Ireland.

She has been working for the children's magazine "Vorhang Auf". Her first author-illustrator picture book, "Der Sandelefant", published by Urachhaus, Germany, in Spring 2015, has been translated into four languages already. This book has been followed by "Magnus and the Night Lion", "Paula knows what to do" published by Pajama Press and two picture books about "Tinka" and her gardening adventures. And there are more stories to come. Her illustration work has been internationally published bringing a unique and well observed art to the table of children's publishing.

She lives with her husband and three children in beautiful Tübingen, in the south of Germany.
